Christie Brinkley responds to Wendy Williams’ claims that she faked her Dancing With The Stars injuries. The model handled the ordeal with style and grace as she stated how shocked she was at Wendy’s remarks.

On Monday’s premiere of The Wendy Williams Show, the host told her audience the Brinkley had been replaced by her own daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, after falling and breaking her arm during one of the last rehearsals. Williams aired the Good Morning America clip that they obtained of Brinkley falling, saying that the fall looked very fake. The video showed the supermodel tripping over her partner’s foot during a turn which caused her to fall to the ground. The fall was very much real, as Brinkley had to undergo surgery for the multiple broken bones in which the surgeon had to insert a metal plate and screws to repair her shattered arm, and in the process had also dislocated her wrist and twisted her ankle. Williams, who is a longtime friend of Brinkley, told her audience that what she believed was a set up to get Brinkley’s daughter Sailor on the show, insinuating she faked her arm and wrist injuries.

Brinkley hit back at the TV host as a guest of The Talk (via Page Six) by saying she was completely stunned by what Williams said about her - especially since she had been a guest on The Wendy Williams Show multiple times. Brinkley went on to say that Williams had called her multiple times throughout the years when she would go through hard times. She insisted that Willams called her for help when she was going through her divorce, when she had stage fright before her performance, and for support with her talk show. Brinkley seemed appalled that Williams would start such a heinous rumor after reaching out so many times to her as a friend. Brinkley continued to say that Williams consistently reached out to her for advice and she never had a problem helping her because she thought they were actually friends. Wendy said she still stands by what she said about her friend.

The whole ordeal had been absolutely devastating to her, but she was thrilled that her daughter could step in and take over in her absence. Brinkley also made sure to reach out and thank Sharon Osbourne for defending her against Williams’ remarks. Osbourne had released a statement saying Williams’ actions were appalling and that it is much more fun to be kind than mean. Brinkley ended her statement by saying, “My message to Wendy is, it’s so much more fun to be kind. Try it. It can’t feel good to try to hurt other people. If it feels good, something’s seriously wrong.”

At the end of the day, kindness will prevail as Brinkley has handled the verbal attack with dignity while Williams’ is left to rethink how she handled the situation. Even after a backlash on her theory, Williams’ is sticking to her thoughts and standing by her words, giving a lackluster apology. Fans will have to see if Brinkley’s daughter will save their family’s reputation and see if she can bring home the coveted mirrorball trophy.
