Chris Evans is an incredibly talented actor who has starred in some of the biggest movies of all time, while also appearing in some fantastic smaller features as well, where he has really been able to highlight his acting prowess to its maximum.

Of course, there is no doubt people know Evans best for being the leader of The Avengers as Captain America, having starred in many different major Marvel movies throughout the course of the MCU, but Evans has also been involved in some other fantastic movies outside of the superhero world.

With his time as Captain America now over, the world is going to have to get used to him in different roles, but before that happens, let’s take a look at his 10 greatest movies, according to IMDb.

Snowpiercer (7.1)

Starting the list is the movie, Snowpiercer, which was released in 2013 and gained a 7.1 rating from IMDb which focuses on the survivors of Earth’s second Ice Age, of which Chris Evans is one, as they are forced to live through their days on a luxury train.

The train is plowing through the snow and ice and the poorest residents of the train make a plot to try and take over the engine room of the train in order to improve their lives and gain a little more power.

Sunshine (7.2)

Next on the list with a rating of 7.2 on IMDb is Sunshine, which is directed by the incredibly talented Danny Boyle, creating another masterpiece with this vastly underrated movie that really was fantastic.

The movie is set slightly in the future where Earth’s dying sun is bringing an end to humanity, which leads a crew of eight men and women to go into space to try and revive the star in order to save the world.

Chris Evans is part of that team alongside other talented actors such as Cillian Murphy, although an accident, a mistake, and a distress beacon from a lost spaceship send the mission into total chaos.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron (7.3)

The first Marvel entrance on this list, and certainly not the last, is Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which has a 7.3 rating on IMDb, with this being the second Avengers movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and one that certainly rose the stakes of things.

The group had several new characters thrown into the mix in this movie such as Vision, Quicksilver, and Scarlett Witch, bringing new powers and different character dynamics to the movie, while also introducing Ultron as the main villain.

Ultron himself gained mixed reviews, but overall was a very solid villain in a good movie. Chris Evans is one of the main characters here, simply due to the fact that Captain America is essentially the leader of the group.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (7.5)

Next up is Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, having an IMDb rating of 7.5 which puts Michael Cera as the lead character, Scott Pilgrim, who is a bass guitarist and ends up in love with Ramona Flowers, who just so happens to have an army of ex-boyfriends who try to eliminate him.

This is where Chris Evans himself comes in, as one of the past boyfriends, making him a villain in this movie which is a major change of pace if you have only seen him play the true American hero in the Marvel movies.

Interestingly, Evans isn’t the only Marvel star who appears in this movie either, as Brie Larson, who portrays Captain Marvel, also happens to be in the film which is a fantastic comedy, directed by the talented Edgar Wright.

Gifted (7.6)

Gifted is a terrific movie that highlights just how talented Chris Evans really is as an actor as he plays the character of Frank Adler, who is a single man raising his young niece, who is a child prodigy who her grandmother wants to really push.

While Frank has plans for her to go to a normal school, his mother tries to intervene when she learns of her incredible mathematical abilities, which threatens to separate Frank and his niece, despite the amount of time and effort he has put into her life.

It is a family that is grounded in reality with a story that could easily happen to people, with everything being about family and love, creating a very emotional movie.

Captain America: Winter Soldier (7.7)

Next on the list is Captain America: Winter Soldier, which has a rating of 7.7 on IMDb, which is far too low (in this writers opinion), for what is one of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, pitting Captain America against his best friend, Bucky.

Marvel has always done a good job of having its movies feel like more than just superhero films, and this particular installment really did feel like a thriller for most of the film, with a lot of politics and secrecy being involved.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons it is rated lower against some other Marvel movies, but when the action does come, it provides some intense fight scenes in what is one of Chris Evans’ best performances to date.

Captain America: Civil War (7.8)

Next on the list is another Marvel movie, which was the third installment of the Captain America trilogy, although this really did feel like an Avengers movie given that there were so many superheroes involved in this, often overshadowing Captain America himself.

However, the film did do a good job at keeping Chris Evans’ character the key character to the storyline, with tensions between Captain America and Iron-Man reaching a boiling point, forcing a rift between the group.

The Civil War storyline is one of Marvel’s most popular comics, mainly because it pits the heroes against each other, rather than another villain, creating a totally different dynamic to the other movies.

The Avengers (8)

With a rating of 8 on IMDb, The Avengers movie finally put some of Marvel’s greatest characters into the same film as they were forced to team up to deal with Loki in this blockbuster movie that really was just the start of a much bigger journey.

Having an Avengers film is something that Marvel fans had wanted for years, and they were not left disappointed once it had happened, with this being an excellent film from start to finish.

With the on-screen chemistry of each main actor being superb, Marvel began to tell stories from within the group and beyond, with the conflicts of The Avengers having to work together for the first time providing some very entertaining moments.

Avengers: Infinity War (8.5)

Another Avengers movie takes second place in Chris Evans’ 10 greatest movies according to IMDb, with the first of two movies that culminated the entire storyline, Avengers: Infinity War, which had the shocking ending from the snap that nobody expected to see.

At this stage in the MCU, everyone knew what to expect with each character and that included Evans’ portrayal of Captain America, who had been seen plenty of times, and in Avengers: Infinity War, Evans provided one of his best performances.

This was a much darker movie than had been seen before with any Marvel movie, as Thanos came out on top, leaving Evans having to play a heartbroken Captain America who, for once, didn’t know what to do.

Avengers: End Game (8.5)

Taking the top spot, unsurprisingly, is Avengers: End Game, although it does have the exact same IMDb of 8.5, with this being the most financially successful movie of all time, managing to top Avatar in the top spot for grossing the most money.

This movie is Chris Evans’ final appearance as Captain America, the role which will no doubt define his career when all is said and done, and once again Evans put in a fantastic performance, leading The Avengers to defeat Thanos.

Avengers: End Game is one of the greatest superhero movies ever made, and therefore having it at the top of a list like this is something Evans is no doubt proud of, with this being the culmination of over a decades worth of storytelling.
