A brief report from Digitimes claims that improved cooperation between Foxconn, its shipping agents and Chinese customs officers will result in faster delivery of the new iPhone 7 to the U.S. and elsewhere.
The report says that the shipments in question are destined for the USA, UK, Netherlands and Italy.
Customs officers in Zhengzhou, Henan have taken a series of measures and also stepped up cooperation with Foxconn and 13 shipping agent companies aiming to improve customs procedures and shorten logistics times.
Apple hasn’t always had the cosiest of relationships with the Chinese authorities, so the idea of officials going out of their way to be helpful would be surprising, but with the volumes being shipped it may well be the case that there’s a mutual benefit in making the process as painless as possible for both sides.
