Alongside the trailer, The Farm 51 announced that Chernobylite will release July 28 for PC. It will launch later in the summer for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though there is currently no firm date.
Chernobylite will retail for $29.99 when it launches on Steam, GoG, and Epic Games. Wojciech Pazdur, Development Director & Vice President The Farm 51, said:
Previously, Farm 51 said in the Steam news announcement for the 1.0 release that next-gen console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S should launch in 2021, but they did not provide a specific timeframe or window alongside the announcement.
A gameplay trailer released on April 23 (seen below) gives a deeper look into the dark and despairing world of a sci-fi Pripyat. It shows off some of the more major updates and changes being brought to the current version ahead of its full launch.
For starters, the entire storyline has been rewritten, and there are all new voiceovers for both the English and Russian language options. Localization has also been finished for all other major languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish.
The developers have also implemented an entirely new soundtrack, performed by award-winning composer Mikolaj Stroinski, with this update. Last but most importantly, there’s new content for players to play, with the addition of a section of a new level called Heist, as well as some gameplay and quality of life tweaks.
Farm 51 said they have implemented “several thousand fixes and improvements” with Mega Patch #8 patch, and you can see a more thorough rundown here.
