Unlike other first-party apps, Google’s browser has historically followed a strict, publicized six-week release cycle. After going without updates for the past four months, a new version of Chrome for iPhone and iPad is rolling out now. In February, Google started releasing new app updates on iOS again and the cadence resumed in earnest last month. Chrome, however, has been a bit behind and skipped version 88 (January) and 89 (March) entirely....

The rumours around new AirPods continue to build. A Chinese report today from Economic Daily News indicates that Apple will sell the ‘AirPods Pro’ in multiple colors, like black, white and midnight green. This would be significant as obviously the current AirPods only come in white. Whereas AirPods have only been offered in one variety so far, Apple’s subsidiary Beats has always sold its headphone products in various colorways. Chinese site Feng is reporting that Taiwanese media is saying that Apple wants to launch the smartwatch sometime in February. Most recently, The Information said Apple would be “lucky” to release the Apple Watch by Valentine’s Day. Officially, Apple has only quoted ‘early 2015’ as a launch window for the Apple Watch. According to the report, Apple is supply constrained by the sapphire output of GTAT, which will mean the Apple Watch will hit in limited quantities....

Google and Mozilla are warning that Chrome may break some websites from March 29, and Firefox on May 3. The reason? The version numbers… Bleeping Computer explains. The problem is that some websites – including some major ones – are hard-coded to expect a 2-digit browser version number, so they will fail over in various ways when presented with a 3-digit one. Mozilla is warning website developers that the upcoming Firefox 100 and Chrome 100 versions may break websites when parsing user-agent strings containing three-digit version numbers....

The FBI and Department of Justice caused a minor furor on Thursday when both came out harshly against The Strengthening American Cybersecurity Act, landmark cybersecurity legislation that sailed through the Senate unanimously on Tuesday. The act forces critical infrastructure organizations to report cyberattacks to CISA within 72 hours and ransomware payments within 24 hours. In statements to Politico, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco trashed the bipartisan bill because the FBI and DOJ are not included alongside CISA....
