Google has added a nifty feature to Chrome for iOS that gives you the option to quickly open external links from other apps using Incognito. It’s especially useful on shared devices. The default behavior loads links alongside other open tabs where your cookies and account sign-ins are shared. By opening in Incognito, you’re not logged in to anything. If you enable “Ask to Open Links from Other Apps in Incognito” from Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security, tapping a link in an external app will first take you to a fullscreen prompt....

Back in May, Opera released a ‘sneak peak’ of its latest browser, Opera 15. The big selling point behind it was the engine under the hood. For the first time ever, the browser was powered by Chromium rather than Opera’s classic Presto engine. Today, the company has officially released the browser for both Mac and Windows in its final state to the public. The latest version of Opera includes a host of new features in addition to the new Chromium engine....

Here’s a PSA for anyone out there looking to save some money on their Netflix. Beginning today, Netflix Basic with ads plan is rolling out around the world, priced at $6.99 per month. However there’s a big gotcha for people in the Apple ecosystem: the ad-supported plan is not supported on the Netflix app on the Apple TV box. It’s unclear if this will remain the case in the long term, but at least as of today’s launch, a support document confirms that the Apple TV is not a supported device for Netflix Basic with ads....

Of all the alterations George Lucas made to the original Star Wars trilogy for the various special editions, few are as infamous as the redone Han Solo/Greedo confrontation. Fans all over cried foul when they saw the scene from the original film had been changed, with the bounty hunter firing a shot (and missing) before Han blasts him. The true story of Chernobyl is a complicated one, seeing as the Soviet Union initially attempted to withhold as much information as possible, even causing the delayed evacuation of nearby citizens - all of which is addressed in the Chernobyl miniseries....

Chinese smartphone sales were down roughly 20% year-on-year in March, reflecting the triple-whammy delivered by the coronavirus crisis. Production was disrupted, reducing supply; many retail stores were closed in early March, leading to fewer purchase opportunities; and lost income during lockdowns would have reduced demand for expensive consumer electronics purchases … Reuters reports. Apple had one of its worst months ever in China in February, selling only around half a million iPhones, but there were the first signs of recovery in March....

Elizabeth Debicki is the latest addition to the cast of Christopher Nolan’s new film. Nolan is now infamous for keeping details about his projects close to the chest for as long as possible, and his latest project is no exception. Warner Bros. scheduled the movie for a July 2020 release date earlier this year, but little’s been revealed about the film since, including its title and plot. All that anyone really seems to know at the moment is that Nolan is directing from his own script and plans to shoot the tentpole in IMAX, much like he did on his last three films (The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, and Dunkirk)....

China – long viewed as one of the key growth markets for smartphones – is now approaching saturation point, according to data being released today by IDC. The WSJ reports that smartphone shipments fell for the first time in six years, 4.3% down year-on-year in the previous quarter. Other sources say sales are still growing, but at a much-reduced rate.
