Apple has reportedly warned suppliers about a further act of Chinese revenge for this week’s controversial visit to Taiwan by the speaker for the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. China’s response may disrupt shipping of iPhones and/or their components. China has expressed its extreme displeasure at the visit, applying a whole raft of measures – ranging from imposing sanctions on Pelosi and her family, to live-fire military exercises within Taiwan’s waters....

Chris Evans has an idea for his next movie: a buddy comedy with Avengers: Endgame co-star Chris Hemsworth. Avengers: Endgame, which continues to break box office records, marks the seventh Marvel film for both Evans and Hemsworth, and they’ve appeared together in four films total. Avengers: Endgame provided a definitive end for Evans’ Steve Rogers, while Thor’s future is a little more up in the air. Like Evans, Hemsworth’s Marvel contract is up, and he’s said that a potential fourth Thor film would need a “great script” to convince him to revisit the character....

Director Christopher McQuarrie is very open to directing a new Star Trek movie. Apple has been hit with another class action lawsuit in California. This one alleges that the company forced users to upgrade to iOS 7 by essentially breaking FaceTime in iOS 6. The move to render FaceTime useless in iOS 6, according to the lawsuit, was primarily driven by Apple wanting to avoid paying increasingly high data costs to Akamai. Today’s suit alleges, however, that the forced upgrade to use FaceTime rendered older devices like iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S unusable....

Sony’s Spider-Man star Tom Holland reveals that Chris Pratt was at his side to offer support through the infamous but short-lived split between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. The two companies briefly severed ties last summer after failing to come to terms during negotiations on a new deal, an estrangement that basically kicked Spider-Man out of the MCU and left Holland worse for wear. But all is well in the universe, as they’ve since announced having put their differences aside to continue to build on what’s been a very fruitful relationship thus far....

Google is continuing its work to speed up Chrome with version 99 released last week. The company touts a handful of speed improvements, including with the Speedometer benchmark, on both Chrome for Mac and Android. Update 6/6: After announcing a Speedometer score of 300 in March with Chrome 99 for Mac, Google says version 104.0.5102.0 (arm64) — currently in Canary — is now 20% faster at 360. This was tested on a M1 Max MacBook Pro running macOS 12....

Earlier this year, we told you about Clicker for Netflix, a macOS app designed for watching Netflix with a native Mac experience. Now, that same developer is back with Clicker for Disney+, which offers many of those features but for Disney’s new streaming service. Disney+ debuted just a few weeks ago and is already immensely popular. One annoyance for Mac users, however, is that there’s no native way to watch on macOS....

Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he came close to portraying Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The actor has been playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011, most recently reprising the role for mega-hit Avengers: Endgame. Remy LeBeau made his first live-action appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Taylor Kitsch in the part. The film wasn’t exactly well-received, but Gambit has always been a popular character. It wasn’t too long before a movie centering on the Ragin’ Cajun was in the works, with Channing Tatum in the titular role and possibly directing....

Legendary voice actor Jim Cummings has played over 400 roles including Darkwing Duck, the Tasmanian Devil, Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. The last two, he reprises in Disney’s newest live action film Christopher Robin. Cummings voices the soft spoken Pooh and exuberant Tigger opposite Ewan McGregor, as Christopher Robin, and Hayley Atwell, who plays Christopher’s wife Evelyn. Cummings sat down and talked about the Pooh reboot, what the movie says to young people, and how doing voices on Christopher Robin was different....
